Objectives

Objectives: These objectives aim to view lactation through the lifespan with an equitable lens. We consider the needs and well-being of parents, babies, healthcare providers and the greater community.

  • Attendees will gain tools to foster supportive environments that promote family and workplace policies which enable parents to continue providing human milk to their children for as long as they choose.

  • Attendees will gain evidence-based information on infant feeding, allowing them to make well-informed choices that align with their goals, scope of work and environment

  • Attendees will gain an increased  understanding of human milk composition, infant feeding, and lactation support for all types of families through the lifespan of their lactation journey

Meet our Keynote Speaker

Dr. Kristin Tully

Dr. Kristin Tully is a medical anthropologist and Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her program of work advances maternal autonomy by addressing what people need to know, feel, and have happen to be safe and well through perinatal care. She is affiliated faculty with the UNC Women’s Health Multidisciplinary Consortium, UNC Collaborative for Maternal and Infant Health, UNC Health Equity and Inclusion Core Team, and Ariadne Labs at Harvard University.
