We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Clinical Development Specialist to support our efforts in
healthcare system engagement, lactation workforce development, community support, and education.
This role is ideal for someone committed to improving access to lactation services and fostering
collaboration between healthcare systems and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation & Healthcare Engagement
● Collaborate with the team to implement strategies to enhance engagement and lactation
support within healthcare systems.
● Support implementation of the Breastfeeding Friendly Clinic Initiative (BFCI), including
evaluation, planning and execution.
● Assist in recruitment, engagement, and training for clinics and hospitals participating in BFCI and
Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) designation efforts.
● Support initiatives related to Medicaid and lactation reimbursement coverage to expand access
for underserved communities.
Lactation Workforce & Community Support
● Support recruitment for the Lactation Care Professionals Workforce Development Project to
increase diversity and accessibility in the lactation profession.
● Support lactation workforce development as assigned
● Support programs and projects that strengthen community and family support for lactation,
including partnership-building and membership recruitment/retention.
Training, Education & Engagement
● Participate in the annual NMBTF conference, quarterly board and membership meetings, and
other relevant meetings as requested.
● Support the development and delivery of educational training sessions, webinars, and support
circles.
● Collaborate with leadership to set and achieve quarterly goals.
Reporting, Compliance & Contract Responsibilities
● Submit monthly invoices on time in accordance with NMBTF policies.
● Maintain accurate project tracking in the organization’s project management and reporting
system.
● Adhere to organizational policies and participate in performance evaluations, with opportunities
for contract renewal.

Qualifications:
● Must hold an active RN, IBCLC or CNM credential and be licensed in New Mexico
● Experience in public health, maternal-child health, lactation support, or healthcare program
management.
● Strong organizational and project management skills.
● Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
● Passion for supporting diverse communities and improving equitable access to lactation services.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
● Passion for community support and maternal health.
● Problem-solving mindset, flexibility and adaptability.

Note: This is an independent contractor providing professional services to NMBTF. All applicants living in
central New Mexico are preferred. A contract position may require travel across the state. Reliable
transportation and a driver's license are required.
Compensation: $45 per hour up to 40 hours a month. Please note that the hourly rate is fixed and
non-negotiable.
