• This training will provide an overview of the role of lactation in attachment and bonding, the impact of lactation duration on infant and lactating parent’s health, how domestic violence and trauma of lactation duration on infant and lactating parent’s health, how domestic violence and trauma may impact breastfeeding/ chest feeding initiation, duration and practices.

• Materials are presented to students in the Social Work field, Birth workers, Home Visitation programs, DOH staff, WIC staff, Peer Counselors, Case Managers and advocates by trained NMBTF staff.
