Who Should Attend
Midwifery students, doulas, lactation care providers, and other birthworkers

Workshop Description

This training is designed to build and expand clinical and practical skills in lactation care.
Participants will gain tools and knowledge to better support nursing parents and families.

The session includes didactic instruction and hands-on practice, and offers an opportunity to connect with others committed to family-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care.

Topics Include
 Counseling techniques
 Nipple shield use and hand expression
 Pumping support for separation and returning to work
 Positioning and latch
 Paced bottle feeding and other feeding methods
 Complementary feeding at the breast using tools like syringe and finger feeding

What to Expect
 Skills-based instruction and practice
 Nursing contact hours
 Certificate of attendance
 Access to lactation tools and educational materials
 Opportunities to connect with other birthworkers

Capacity is limited to 30 participants.
