Objectives

  • Address the emotional well-being and psychosocial aspects of lactation and the different experiences of individuals.
  • Explain the importance of equipping parents in advance with the education and resources to navigate lactation challenges.
  • Address common lactation-related health issues and understand different options for interventions.

Announcing our 2025 Keynote Speaker, Dr. Sekeita Lewis-Johnson!

Dr. Sekeita Lewis-Johnson is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and Birth Doula. She is the Accredited Provider Program Director and an Instructor for Lactation Education Resources.

In 2019, Dr. Lewis-Johnson graduated from Wayne State University where she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree and Nursing Education Certificate. She is a one of the Co-Founders of Southeast Michigan IBCLCs of Color in Detroit Michigan and Mama’s Mobile Milk. She is a contributing author of the Core Curriculum for Interdisciplinary Lactation Care textbook. She has received multiple awards during her career.

2025 Call for Poster Submissions

Posters will be included at the in-person event in Albuquerque, NM and participants will be able to walk around during breaks to learn from posters. Virtual participants will be sent a pdf copy of all posters, and poster presenters have the option of including a video presentation that goes along with their poster (videos can be up to 10 minutes). Posters that cover topics relevant to New Mexico and the surrounding areas will be prioritized. 


The deadline for submissions has been extended to January 15, 2025.

- Education
- Partnerships
- Research
